BADOUMA
"The Badouma, or Bandoumou as they are also known, lives in the Upper Ogooue province, one of the most unreached areas in Gabon. Widely dispersed, they cover an area near the provincial centres of Franceville and Moanda.
Although their mother tongue is Dumu, the majority of the population also speak and understand Njebi.
Animism is the primary religion although the Roman Catholic church also exercises a great deal of influence. However, evangelical outreach to this people are very limited. Small numbers of Badouma Christians are active in several Alliance churches. Songbooks and a catechism prepared by the Catholic church are the only forms of Scripture available to this people in their mother tongue. C&MA missionaries are goaling to aid the Alliance churches to actively reach out to the Badouma."
